• US Environmental Protection Agency: The AgSTAR Program
  The AgSTAR Program is a voluntary effort jointly sponsored by the US-EPA, the US Dept. of Agriculture, and the US-DOE. The program encourages the use of methane recovery (biogas) technologies at confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs) that manage manure as liquids or slurries.

• Northeast Combined Heat and Power Initiative and Application Center
  The Northeast Combined Heat and Power Initiative (NECHPI) leads the region in encouraging the implementation of CHP technologies and drives CHP roadmap action items for the northeast region in support of DOE's and EPA's goal of doubling CHP use by 2010. "Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada provides information, research and technology, and policies and programs to achieve security of the food system, health of the environment and innovation for growth." ManureNet is a national information resource and coordination center for the Manure/Nutrient Management Issue.

  The NRCS objective in working with Animal Feeding Operations (AFOs) is to help AFO owners and operators to achieve their production and natural resource conservation goals through development and implementation of comprehensive nutrient management plans (CNMPs).
